It strikes me that I use rather a lot of words & abbreviations that may not mean much to readers who live in the “normal” paradigm & don’t frequent the wilder edges of the Worldwide Web. So for those, some explanations:

• Him Indoors/the Head Gardener/Other Half – my redoubtable & long-suffering husband.
• Womble/wombled/wombling – a reference to a 1970s children’s TV programme, about small furry creatures who live on Wimbledon Common and make the most of “found objects”…
• DD/DS – Dear Daughter or Dear Son. Of which we have plenty…
